Recently, Philips Applied Technologies commenced a research into developing a virtual television station/channels system on the Internet. This system would be a peer-to-peer distribution platform where multiple content partners could provide their video content on-line.
My contribution to the project was to investigate the user-system interaction of and to design a GUI for "Peert" system as described above.
Objectives:
• creating the strategy and designing installation, registration, and set up procedure for downloading the application
• developing use case scenarios for content selection from application browser, electronic content guide (ECG), and downloading procedure
• ease-of-use of playing the downloaded content and visualizing the download progress of the different content items
• create/research a complimentary interface that is suitable for set-top box application (as a part of Philips Connected planet vision). This UI should correspond to the 'look-and-feel' of the web application
